The Maryland Music Educators Association is hosting their 2nd Annual Student Leadership Summit on Saturday, January 22, 2022. This is open to all students grades 7-12.
Participants will learn from national and local leaders in the music education field as well as other arts industry leaders from across the United States. The summit will include a College Fair where attendees can meet representatives from community colleges, four-year colleges and universities, and conservatories from across the United States.
Session topics include activism, advocacy, careers, conflict resolution, diversity, equity, inclusion, and access; mission, vision and purpose, networking, and MORE!
The summit will take place from 11am-6pm EST. This will be a virtual event with sessions being conducted over Zoom.
MMEA also has student programs available to Maryland homeschooled students. For a full list, see the document link below. All information can be found on their website at www.mdmea.org.

This is a homeschool friendly children's chorus located in Towson, MD. The Crickets and Conservatory groups are youth centered choral groups creating a sense of community, gaining vocal performance skills, and learning music theory.

Do-Re-Mi Project, Frederick Chapter
This is a national non-profit with a chapter in Frederick County. The Do-Re-Mi project connects Frederick County high school music students who have been approved by FCPS educators with elementary and middle school aged music students for free virtual tutoring. This is available for any music student in Frederick County.

Frederick Children's Chorus
This children's chorus for children grades 3-6 is an excellent opportunity for children showing a special ability to learn and perform music. It is not specifically for homeschoolers but is homeschool-friendly.

Hood Music School
Music lessons are available through Hood College’s Department of Music in voice, violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, flute, oboe, english horn, clarinet, saxophone, all brass instruments, organ, piano, and harpsichord, in addition to conducting and composition. Lessons are taught at every level--from beginner to advanced--by master teachers. Morning, afternoon, and evening hours are possible for most instruments. Performance opportunities occur each semester.
